From the moment Elsa Canedo gave herself ësurfer bangsí in the sixth grade she found her natural ability to create current styles without any previous technical training. Soon in demand amongst friends and family Elsa discovered her love for hair and a destiny fulfilled.
After 11 years in salon experience she fled the surf of San Diego to immerse herself in the new chapter of her career in fashion and beauty in New York. After landing in the big city, Elsa quickly became in demand for fashion, editorial, advertising and commercial work with leading high profile clients. She's been expanding into television, having done 5 seasons of Project Runway and Tyra Banks Show (including emmy award winning season 2010) and The Fashion Show, while still collaborating with an ever growing list of highly esteemed photographers including Thierry Van Buren, Demitri Daniloff, Markus Klinko, Caroline Knopf and Jon Ragel .
Elsa has also worked with a list of celebrities that include Samuel L. Jackson, Joan Jett, Matt Dillon, Mandy Moore, Alexandra Richards, Lydia Hearst, Thalia, Maria Menounous and Tina Fey among others.
